My First Father's Day

I'm so glad that today was Carter's birthday b/c it really let me take my focus off of the fact that this is my first Father's Day without my father. I can't believe that it will be 1 year in August already, I hate it. Its funny to b/c just when you think that things are getting better all of the sudden something happens and you are as sad as the day he passed. Sometimes they will shoot off fireworks over the lagoon and I just don't think I'll ever be able to feel the same about fireworks. Now when I see them I just think about all the times Dad and I would watch them from the pontoon, every 4th of July at the lake. One day these will be happy memories but now they just make me sad. Oh dad I miss you and wish you could have been here for Carter's birthday, but I suppose you were there. I just wanted to say Happy Father's Day to Dave, Glen, Matthew, and my wonderful father aka Papa Bob.

Happy Birthday Carter!

Today is Carter's 4th birthday! WOW, I can't believe it! Four years ago at this time I was holding my little munchkin. He was born at 7:49 am and was 10 lbs 1 oz and 21 1/2 inches long. He was such a little sweety. My calmest baby, slept ALL the time! Wow, I guess you can't tell how someone is going to be based on how they are as a baby!!

He had a great birthday party. My friend Erica and I spent hours making popcorn cupcakes, we had a movie on the big screen at Dave's school, and we had popcorn goodie bags. Carter had a great time and was so glad his friends came to show him how much they love him. He also got a new bike from Grandma and Papa.

It was a GREAT day!

Reece's last day of school

Well its Reece's last day of 2nd grade! The good news, he worked on his reading and his teacher Mrs. Suciu feels he is more than ready for 3rd grade! So he'll be moving onto 3rd grade next year. Since we moved in the middle of the year we had a little trouble finding the right spot for Reece. He was in 1st grade at home, but the 1st grade here was a little behind. When we moved him to the 2nd grade he was a little behind, we considered keeping him in the 2nd grade again, but he worked hard and is moving on! His class had a little show today in his class and they did a little dance. He also read a paper out loud about reflections from the 2nd grade and advice for new 2nd graders. Each child got an award that was voted on by the class, Reece got "Best at Math!" Way to go Reece!!!
