So living in St Maarten, I have met a lot of different students and spouses from all over the US. It is so interesting to hear all the different ways people talk and the different words people use to describe the same thing....for instance I always ask for a "pop" but many here call them sodas or just cokes. A lot of the girls here are from the south and use the word "y'all" like its going out of style. I find myself saying "aah" a lot and I often find one of the spouses from Canada also using that phrase. So I came across this quiz that tells you how "Yankee" or how "rebel" your speech is. It's pretty interesting....take it and see how you rate! Post it in my comment section so I can see!
I scored 28% Dixie. You are a dandy Yankee Doodle. Which makes sense since I'm from the North. Dave's actually wasn't so close, he scored in the 50%, he claims b/c he lived in North Carolina for 5 years.
So check it out and see where you stand... http://www.alphadictionary.com/articles/yankeetest.html
As long as we are talking about people and where their from, I don't know if you noticed my new gadget. It tells me all the different places people are looking at my blog from, there are people in Florida, Minnesota, Arizona, Alabama, Maryland, Washigton....and even other countries like Guadeloupe and Ausser-Rhoden! WOW, so people are reading! Well, welcome everyone and thanks for keeping up with the Reimers' in paradise....I'm going to have to think of a new name soon, maybe something like "Reimer' Freezing their butts off" or "Reimers' Back to the real world." Hmmm I only have 2 more months to come up with something! Well, thanks everyone for looking and I can't wait to see where the next person is from!

some of those made me laugh: "tennis shoes?" and "soda?" haha
81% Dixie....Do I still use Confederate money?
Mine was 21% Dixie and Tom's was 28%. I guess him living in Alabama for a few years, made a difference! Haha! I did like the differentiation between "Soda" and "Pop"! Soda is a West Coast thing! Haha!! :)
ROFL! That was priceless. I had to go back and look at answers to make sure this was right! It's kinda scary. "93% Dixie. Is General Lee your grandfather?!"
